Listeners and local network

How to share translation with participants' phones through a trusted event network.

Prepare the network

Connect the operator's computer and phones to the same trusted local network. For example, connect the computer by cable to the venue router and phones to that router's Wi-Fi. Ask the network administrator whether devices may communicate with one another: guest isolation often blocks this. Do not disable the firewall entirely—allow bblx local connections on the trusted network.

Connect a listener

1. In the app, open «Слушатели» and find the listener link and QR code for the local network.
2. Configure any additional languages, then start translation. Each enabled language consumes separate time.
3. On the phone, open the QR code or link, choose a language, and press Listen. The browser may block autoplay.
4. Check headphones, phone volume, and the Volume control. On iPhone, use Safari 16.4 or later; on older iOS, you may need to disable silent mode.

Leave the page open. Before the event, check real audio on at least one phone connected to the venue network.

Do not confuse QR codes

The listener QR code opens listening only. The Signal Deck pairing QR code provides a remote control panel: share it only with the technical team. Neither is related to connecting an account with the short BBLX code. Do not publish links containing keys.

Listeners outside the venue

The local link does not work over mobile internet outside the event network. As of the guide's update date, internet sharing through a public service is not yet enabled. The presence of a «Через интернет» section in the app does not mean the service is available: plan your first launch with listening on the local network.
